I’m sick of being there for you.
I’m sick of cleaning up after you. I’m sick of standing up for you. I’m sick of playing 4th for you. I can’t play the human shield who helps you walk out of sight. Back roads and alleyways won’t save a drowning mind. I can’t be that little boy who tells you it ain’t right. I can only try to save you from yourself. Woh, now you are gone again. (Woh, now you are gone again.) I can’t laugh, but I guess I shouldn’t cry. Woh, now you are gone again. (Woh, now you are gone again.) I can’t laugh, but I guess I shouldn’t scream. Woh, I know I should give up again. (Woh, now you are gone again.) I know that I can’t change. And I know you’d never make me. Woh, I know I should give up again. (Woh, now you are gone again.) I know that you can’t change. And I know I’d never leave you alone. Going up Bow Trail, why does 4th always fail? I got the pedal to the floor, but I ain’t movin’ anymore. [(4th) 4th sucks again (Again) 4th sucks again (4th) 4th sucks again (Again)] x4 ![]() Beard of Pride ![]() This is the
story of three young geers.
The issues they’ve faced early in their careers. With the experience they lack, will they prevail? So let each one tell you his horrid tale. Shout: We will fight to live our life. We will fight to do what’s right. We won’t bow to dollar signs. We won’t be your bottom line. I hate the management ‘cause they make me feel small. I used to have a mentor but they pushed him to the wall. The company has benefits we can’t afford to use. My office is a townhouse off No one here to learn from, I just do it on my own. The motive is a contract to put GPS in phones. Nothing that you’ve promised me has ever come to pass. I’m leaving, never looking back, so just kiss my ass. Shout: This is a story of three young geers. And the people we call our peers. They are supposed to help us along. But what they preach we know is wrong. They can’t walk on us anymore. No more being a working class whore. Any more of this we’ll be drowning in ale. So let each one tell you his horrid tale. Shout: Apparently I’m just too thorough to design structures. I want quality, they want quantity, always feel pressure. He actually told me: “to let some mistakes go through”. The one thing always lacking is thorough peer review. I can’t leave my work at work, I’m constantly worried. Stop thinking, stop fretting, just finish your work quickly. I never fully trust the decisions of the chief. Gotta stop second guessing everything in my life. Shout: [We will fight to live our life. We will fight to do what’s right. We won’t bow to dollar signs. We won’t be your bottom line.] x8 Shout: I get to work at 10 am ‘cause no one else is there by then. I work on projects with no end, I never see another cent. Another product without sales, management made it fail. I literally run my code, I know it’s time to hit the road. Hopefully the money from the merger’s gonna rock. No way, my Christmas bonus was Jamaican coloured socks. An old boys club of evil, innovation is its name. The talented are leaving and they have themselves to blame. Shout: ![]() Don't Wanna Hear it

Fortunes fade and the times they change.
The simple ways of living have gone away. Times have changed since the good old days. And selfishness has hit us like a tidal wave. We cater to their will and submit to their ways. For those of us who care, we’ll do it our way. Some like the power and some like the fame. But, it’s time to have a reason to effect some change. Chorus: I don’t wanna hear about it. I don’t wanna think about it. This is what I’m hearing from you. I don’t wanna hear about it. I don’t wanna think about it. Time that you change your attitude. When will we wake up? When will we see that there’s something really wrong with society? Going through the motions and it’s plain to see that our crass behaviour deserves culpability. Strike an awkward chord and take to the stage. Inspire the world to rise up in rage. He likes the power, but I like the fame. It’s time to have a reason to effect some change. Chorus: [There’s a price to pay. There’s a change to make. But in the end it’ll be okay.] x2 I hope that you listen. I hope that you change. ‘Cause there’s some improvements that we can make. We’ve got the power. We’ve got the strength. We just need a voice to express our rage. Chorus: I don’t wanna hear about it. I don’t wanna think about it. ![]() Folding Doors
![]()
Down on a
corner, waiting for a bus.
Anxious from the poison and running out of luck. He comes to me (he comes to me) to ask me the time. He comes to me (he comes to me) to tell me his life. He shares his story of living in a shed. He never sees his son. He’s become his regret (he’s become his regret). He seems to know just how far I’ve gone. He’s a fearless man who’s plagued by fear. Pre-chorus: Beyond the folding doors and onto the street. Existing without full fare. There can be no retreat. The thoughts inside you won’t put shoes on your feet. The cravings you feed become the lies that you eat. Chorus: Never give up on the dreams that you’re chasing. Never give up on your path in life. Never give up when your body is breaking. Down in the dirt, it’s time to stand up. Never give up on the problems you’re facing. Never give up on defeating your fear. Never give up on those who mean something. Never give up. Never give up! He wants to know where I’m going. And I reply: “I’m just heading home (I’m just heading home)”. Then he informs me that he’s meeting a friend. Supplies his substance while supporting his end (while supporting his end). I decide to ask if it’s all that he wants. ‘Cause there’s no permanence in the joy that he’s bought (in the joy that he’s bought). He’s slowly drowning. He doesn’t need my help. In desperate need of a new start. Pre-chorus: Chorus: He came to me wishing. (I just looked down on him.) He came to me wanting. (I just looked down on him.) He came to me hoping. (I just looked down on him.) He came to me praying. (I just looked down on him.) [Now I can’t get] x3 him out of my head! ![]() Mortar and Pestle
![]() Somewhere
there's screaming.
You're drowning. The water muffles your cries as it grabs hold of your last breath. And we're all watching, marveling at the sight of your destruction. The headline printed in bold on the front page reads: "victim of circumstance". We're the victims. So close your eyes. The clouds are collecting to show their support. The sun won't scorch your eyes again. No, the sun won't scorch your eyes again So close your eyes. There's a flickering in the sky tonight. Our compasses are confused – leaving us [without direction] x2. But we have this night, these stars, this light. So why not make the best of it? Let's make the best of the time we have. I'm not going anywhere. What I'd give to lie to you, to lie with you. We all try to convince ourselves we're something that we're not. So, when the tide returns, you and I will sail off in the sunset and form our own happy ending like the ones we’d always read about, the ones we're always searching for. You were fast asleep. You didn't hear a word I'd said. Maybe you were pretending not to hear me. Goodnight. Close your eyes. ‘Cause tomorrow awkwardness will present us with its own version of events. Tomorrow will never be the same again. Our compasses are confused – leaving us without direction, leaving us yearning for something more. But we have this night, these stars, this light. So why not make the best of it? [Goodnight.] x2 Tonight. [Goodnight.] x2 Tonight. Goodnight. Tonight. ![]() Psuedoska
![]() I don’t hear the dialogue, I just hear your monologue.
Your speech’s diabolical. The words of your demigod. Your basic thoughts entice the base when you believe yourself the demigod. There may be a little bit of substance but all I see is emptiness. Yeah, there may be a little bit of substance but all I see is emptiness. (There may be a little bit of substance but all I see is emptiness. Yeah, there may be a little bit of substance but all I see is emptiness.) Chorus: Your words (your words) may mean nothing to you, but your works (but your works) make you nothing to me. You don’t say (you don’t say) I’d never push the truth. ‘Cause in truth (‘cause in truth), never say never ‘cause never will ever prove you to be wrong (never say never ‘cause never will ever prove you to be wrong). War is peace, ignorance is strength. Weave ‘em in your tapestry. A pedestal for your ministry. Your basic thoughts entice the base when you believe yourself the demigod. There may be a little bit of substance but all I see is emptiness. Yeah, there may be a little bit of substance but all I see is emptiness. (There may be a little bit of substance but all I see is emptiness. Yeah, there may be a little bit of substance but all I see is emptiness.) Chorus: (3.14) [Your basic thoughts entice the base. The false words of your demigod.] x2 There may be a little bit of substance but all I see [is emptiness] x3. [Your basic thoughts entice the base. The false words of your demigod.] x2 (There may be a little bit of substance but all I see is emptiness. [Yeah, there may be a little bit of substance but all I see is emptiness.] x5) Chorus: ![]() Rancors
![]() Chorus: In the end will this have meant anything to me? All full of sound and fury, in the end who will be my own self to me? Will I linger to the end? These days they roll by so fast. I forget myself as the sun forgets the day. Chorus: Put rancors in the vessel of my peace only for them, and mine eternal jewel given to the common enemy of man, to make them kings – the seed of Banquo kings! Rather than so, come, Fate, into the list, and champion me to the utterance! Who’s there? [I don’t understand why I care.] x4 …but you follow. Chorus: Again, will this have meant anything to me? All full of sound and fury, will I linger to the end these days? I forget myself as the sun forgets the day. ![]() Scaffolding
![]() (1,2,3.14) (Denial) Won’t you see that your place in life is a little bit more than where you are? (Denial) Won’t you see that you’re weary and [the ending] x2… it isn’t really that far? (Denial) Won’t you see that your second chance has been waiting for you from the start? (Denial) Won’t you see what you’ve done inside? There’s [nothing] x3 left inside your heart. Chorus: And I know it’s not my life and it’s not my choice. But can you make it on your own? I fear that when the day comes the decision won’t be yours and life won’t be your choice. (Desire) I can’t help but feel that I’m the reason that you’re stuck in this place. (Desire) I’ve been in your life so long. I don’t even know, no, I don’t even know your face. (Desire) I saw it coming long ago and [I tried] x3 to tell them all. (Desire) They never listened and they let go. Now who will catch you when you fall? Chorus: [Who will catch you when you fall?] x5 (Who will catch you when you fall?) x3 (…when you fall.) ![]() See You on Sunday
![]() Don’t bite off my tongue.
I’m embarking on a spiritual journey. I should not have done this now, ‘cause everything has melted down. Middle of the desert. Beginning of the epiphany. Like you’re on an airplane that’s starting to elongate. A whole new world. A whole new light. My trip setter, my Sunday saviour. Chorus: On the second day, the Sunday, while you’re transcending reality. No control, so put your faith in me ‘cause I will see you through. You are the current, as the essences are full of air. Feeling ubiquitous. The world has become pixilated. Decisions need to be made. Nothing makes any difference. I can’t control reactions, I can’t control my fate. I am the wheel, you are the Axle. My trip setter, my Sunday saviour. Chorus: Release all your stress. See yourself dissolve. Nothing around you has a beginning or an end. You can’t see the borders of reality. You’ve got to challenge your mind. Try to see math, try to be math, the inner-workings of math – exist as calculus. Trip to the badlands to be with the hoodoos. The medicine brings introspection and insight. Was the weekend wasted? Was all this worthwhile? Ask yourself: “did I make the grade?” It’s time to come back now. It’s time to come back. Chorus: ![]() Slow on the Bandwagon
![]() I see the
look in your eyes.
You’re obviously trying to escape from something. You built up these walls so thick that no one can see through. You live your life so blind. It’s tragic, really, what we’ve become. [What you call progress is nothing more than ignorance.] x2 …you call progress. You hide behind your walls and watch me disappear. Never going to learn. [You’re never gonna change.] x3 [It’s tragic, really, what we’ve become.] x2 You built up these walls so thick no one can see inside. You live your life so blind. We’re never gonna learn. We’re never gonna change. We’re never gonna learn. I can see by the look in your eyes you’re obviously trying to escape from something. You build up your walls so thick nobody can see through. You live your life so blind. ![]() Synonym for Epic
![]() (Go!!!)
(Screams from Hell.) x3 The legions wait for their master’s command. Summoned to burn and destroy the land. Casting lots to overtake the throne. (What will they do when they come for you?) Dealing death through their eyes of stone. Another synonym for evil awaits for you to wake and receive your fate. Ever-present harbinger set to engage. (Will they torture you?) Smoldering ashes witnesses to your rage. The masses flee from the upcoming storm. As lightning strikes and storm clouds form, the messenger ascends from the deep. (Will they consume your soul?) Women cry and the children weep. Seated now as the ruler of man, the beast controls the conformed at his hand. Slaughtering and consuming the just, (Will they destroy you?) satisfy every bit of his lust. Chorus: [[The fire, the dragons, the demons of hell.] x3 They’re coming for you! You don't know what they’ll do!] x2 (Screams from Hell.) x8 Behind the seal lay the seventh sign. The damned gather to see what’s behind. Angered now, our earth will spawn (What will they do when they come for you?) the last great whore of Dealing judgment, none may stand against the terror of the serpent’s hand. The righteous – dead – but still he demands (Will they consume your soul?) a world destroyed by the works of man. Its skin and bone are born of shield. Elusive serpent of the lake is born. The fire of everlasting dawn (Will they torture you?) and terror dances in your wake. Two beasts lay inside and wait: the one I love and the other I hate. The keys of doom and hell await. (Will they destroy you?) The one I feed will dominate. Chorus: (Screams from Hell.) x8 The sole survivor grows strong, yet he rots. Dead to living, but alive in his thoughts. Sympathy for the creature who reigns, (Uh-oh, they got you!) but damning fire he can barely contain. A synonym for epic played in my mind. I'm stabbing out against the beast I've designed. A synonym for epic played in my mind. (They will destroy you!) I'm stabbing out against the beast I've designed. Chorus: (Screams from Hell.) x8 [Chorus:] x3 (Go!!!) (Screams from Hell.) x11 (There’s no way that’s getting any better!) ![]() Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
![]() Chorus: [Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.] x3 Heroes in a half shell. Turtle Power! They're the worlds most fearsome fighting team. They're heroes in a half shell and they're green. When the evil Shredder attacks, these turtle boys don't cut ‘em no slack! Chorus: Splinter taught them to be ninja teens. (He’s a radical rat!) Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines. (That’s a fact, Jack!) Rapheal is cool but rude. (Gimme a break!) Michealangelo is a party dude! [(Party!)] x2 Chorus: (Heroes in a half shell. Turtle Power!) ![]() The Last Song We Need to Know
![]() I can't
help but think that two weeks ago
was the best time of my life and I can't believe you’d give up so easily. Can you see this distance is killing me? I hope you're doing fine. I know you're doing fine, but you won't ever call again. [(Way-oh.)] x16 Well, sometimes, you think you know someone. I promised myself that I wouldn't fall for you when you said: "boy, I have a habit of walking all over the people I care about". Can you see the footprints on my face? You meant something to me. Pre-chorus: You really meant something to me (you really meant something to me). You really meant something to… Chorus: I don't know what we were, but I know what we could have been. You promised me that you'd be there until the end. You said that you'd never change. Have you forgotten everything? Our legs tangled under the table. Our hearts beating so rapidly. It was two weeks ago, the best day of my life. And now I'm burning up inside. Pre-chorus: Chorus: I'll never trust another guy like you with my band. You told me I could trust you. And I swear I'll never be the same again. I'll never be the same again. [(Woh-Oh-Oh-Oh.)] x4 ![]() Twenty Year Temporary
![]() You tell us
that it is right
to spend twenty years of your life on something that is ‘temporary’. Possibly unnecessary? All the while, while we had thought: “is it too much time to allot?” Chorus: It is such a struggle. And for what? Every day new challenges to face. But, it’s just learning how to learn I guess. It doesn’t even matter what the subject is. Extra time to spend with friends makes up for all these hardships that we have endured since we began. Look at the knowledge that we have gained. To our careers will it pertain? The freedom and self-reliance that come; unconditional independence for some. This most anticipated occasion brings time for rejuvenation. Relaxing, rocking out, we don’t care. Weekday evenings on the couch. A lot of nothing seems like much. No more damn homework. That is more than fair. Before now time to ourselves was far too rare. Hanging out for a good cup of joe means more to me than I ever did know. Babies that are more punk rock than me make us enjoy these toast and jam times that we can now share, the way they should be. Undertaking new endeavors. Affording the luxuries we never had the chance to buy back then. Saturdays: sleeping in! You know what? They were right. This ‘momentary’ struggle was worth the fight. Chorus: ![]() We're Calling in a Favour
![]() I don't know where to start to let this all out. This fear inside my heart is driving me insane. I'm losing all hope. I'm losing all control. Surrounding myself with something else. It was a simple way to keep me in play. I can't help but think that it's all running out. Pre-chorus: Wake me from this dream before I scream. Chorus: There's a dark song that sings in my soul and when I lose control it casts a cold shadow over everything that I hold dear. So, I'm asking my friend please save me from the end. I'm scaring myself. So, won’t you please answer me when I call on you. This builds me up inside. It makes me want to cry. This frustrating life. (You can't even know.) I wanna let it out. I want to scream and shout. But there's something inside (I can't let go). I need a safe place, a friendly face. Someone to tell (about this hell). So, I'm calling on you. There's nothing to do. Just be there for me (in my time of need). Pre-chorus: Chorus: [I need you my friend. Won't you be there when I come calling.] x2 [I need you my friend. Won't you be there when I come calling. (I can hear you calling.)] x2 Chorus: When I call on you? I said, when I call on you? |
