July 24, 2008 My bad.. and HATE MAIL!! WOOT! Erm.. so I sent Mark the wrong mix of one of the songs and then I went off to Europe and we had to wait until I got the right mix sent, so it's coming out next Tuesday (July 29th, 2008). For Real.. I'm SUPER SERIAL! Also, we received our first bit of "hate" mail from what appears to be a disgruntled former coworker of mine. Said e-mail: " My God you guys suck... I take that back, you'd have to practice to suck. If you had a real Guitarist you'd be pretty good, till then you just suck." Mark has this GEM of a response that we'd like to share with anyone who reads our site: "Hello, thank you for your interest in TSG. At TSG, your email is important to us. "The Ritual Of The Calling" - TSG's first new album in 6 years is done and scheduled for release on Tuesday, July 29! We've enjoyed getting back into the studio and laying down some new material as well as some of our old favorites. After moths of mixing, mastering, and agonizing over the tracks, the result is something we are truly proud to present. Hopefully, you'll enjoy it, too. Downloads coming soon, keep your eyes peeled! June 7, 2008 Show Announcement and New Record Update!!! Hey everyone, We're really sorry that we haven't posted online yet any of that music, that we recorded last year, that we've been promising. With our busy engineering schedules, other priorities in life, and the fact that we want the new record to sound super good we've ended up taking an extra long time on the mixing. We are, however, done mixing thirteen tracks and they should be online within the next few weeks for free download! YEAAAAHHHH!!!! Also, TSG is pleased to announce that they will be playing live in Calgary next Thursday, June 12th at the Blind Beggar Pub. If you haven't seen us live before, make sure you come check us out! If you have seen us live before come anyways as we'll be playing mostly new material written over the past year or so! Thank you everyone for your patience with our slow band! Pete Nov 19, 2007 New Record Progress!! We hit the "studio" this weekend and tracked the drums and bass for 15 songs, most of which are previously unrecorded. Pete and Mark did most of the work while Dan sat around and criticized every freaking thing they did. Because the song just isn't right if it's missing that cymbal crash. He'll get his when he records his parts later this week. No details yet on what the album is going to be called, and we won't be making too many CD's, but we'll sort out some method of digital distribution that's free to everyone (if we can help it) Keep on rocking the whiny guitarist conformist world.. I mean free world. Peace -D Oct 10, 2007 GIG Alert and News! It's been over a year since our last gig, but we're proud to announce that TSG will be hitting the stage next week! You can catch TSG live at the Castle Pub in Calgary on Thursday, October 18th! From the Facebook event press release: "Load up your bittorrent and download your Grey's Anatomy/ Ugly Betty/The Office/30 Rock, drop the kids off at the grandparents house, and dump your hot girlfriend, because TSG rocks the Castle Pub's Walls Down. And you don't want to miss a once in a year opportunity" Interesting to note that the last time we played the Castle, our hideously bad/emo singer Ian decided he'd rather go see Wilco with his girlfriend than show up for his own gig. In other news, we're planning on doing another basement recording session in November with a release slated for early 2008. Expect plenty of new material, along with updated versions of a few TSG classics! Nov 8, 2006 FINALLY!! Pictures! (and some news) Well hello there folks. If you go check out the pictures page of the site we've finally got our asses in gear to put up the pictures from The Distillery show. I have an excuse! I was out of town a lot and then I moved into Pete's apartment. So yeah.. Also of note.. We're going to be a little more pro-active in trying to get some more shows, so if we manage to hook up anything we'll let you know. Lastly.. We've been working on some new stuff. Two songs are getting close (Folding Doors and Beard of Pride) and we just started working on a new one last week. So far Peter doesn't like it, but we'll change that soon enough. So, the guys in the band have been getting random myspace spam emails saying people want to be our friends, and that people are leaving us comments. Awsome! We want friends that stay in touch, but we don't want people thinking that we're SOME OTHER BAND. Apparently, before Dan bought the tsgmusic.com domain, some band called The Shooting Gallery from Louisville, KY owned it before abandoning it in favour of some other domain (which was also, apparently abandoned). Well, one thing they *forgot* to do was update their login account information at myspace, so our catch-all account has been picking up all of their spam and sending it directly to Dan, Peter and myself. As was so astutely observed by one myspace patron who posted on The Shooting Gallery's myspace page: "you ladies my not know this, but the website is looking bad. i don't see a picture of anyone i recognize" Well, as you may have figured out by now- this is the website for the Calgary, Alberta Punk-rock trio, TSG. If you're looking for The Shooting Gallery, I don't know where they are... but you're welcome to stay here until you find them. If you know them, tell them to please update their myspace info, because getting junk mail is bad enough- and getting *other peoples* junk mail is even worse! Oh, and pictures from September will be online sometime soon. -Mark Sept 21, 2006 New Music Online Good news for all those who weren't able to make the show on Sept. 9th- we recorded it! Check out the "music" section of the site for a taste of what we played on the 9th. We think it captures the essence of our live show, minus of course, the witty banter. Also, pictures from the show will be up soon, so keep checking back! Sept 10, 2006 Distillery Show Wrapup Thanks to everybody who came out last night to support TSG! It was a blast getting back on stage, and we were glad to see so many of our friends, family, and coworkers there. We hope you all had as good a time hanging out as we had playing for you. Mark recorded the show on his portable multitrack, and there were plenty of cameras in the crowd, so keep an eye on the site over the coming days as we update the site with music and pictures from the show!  August 25, 2006 Website News Welcome to the new home of TSG, where you'll soon be able to get all the latest information and media surrounding this up-and-coming Calgary Band. Watch this space shortly for news and updates! August 25, 2006 Upcoming Show TSG will be performing live at the Distillery Public House (180-839 5 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB T2P 3C8) on September 9th. We'd love to see all of our supports out for our first show in over a year! We're assuming the show should start around around 10PM, so get there early! The setlist for the show includes many TSG classics, and a barrage of new material written over the last year. Tentatively, our setlist is as follows:
